Throwback Thursday #4

Since today is Halloween, how could I not post a picture that has to do with Halloween? These two pictures are of Jessie and Rusty from 2010.

Don't they look so happy? ;)

The Weekend: October 18, 19, 20

Friday morning snuggles with my little man before heading off to work

 The Weekend:

Friday morning started off with some snuggle time, and then come Saturday morning we were off on the road. One of our good friends from high school got married up in Rochester, Minnesota. It was so good to see everyone and catch up on old times. The boys had a blast on the dance floor, and partied hard all night! Congrats to Amy and Barry! You had a beautiful wedding, and we wish nothing but the best for you two!
Beautiful fall scenery on the way up

Had to take a picture of the "castle" for Brody.

Throwback Thursday #3

In the spirit of Halloween, I thought I would post a picture of the boys in their first Halloween pictures.  I have never been much of a Halloween fan until I had kids. Now, I love dressing them up and taking them out!

Zoe Babysits!

This past Monday my dad had the day off from work and decided he would spend his day watching his grandsons. The boys had so much fun with Zoe or also known as Papa Joe.

Throwback Thursday #2

I thought I would share this picture since pumpkin carving season is quickly approaching! This picture is of me and my dad after we carved our pumpkins in October of 2010. My dad and carve pumpkins every year together, and now  my dad and I get to share this experience with my two little boys. So much fun!

This picture was taken 2 months before Brody was born. This is one of the very few pictures I took while I was pregnant with Brody. I was very very sick throughout my pregnancy and hated having my picture taken. As you can tell I don't looked too thrilled that I'm having my picture taken.

My favorite part about this picture is Jessie hanging out in the background. :)

The Weekend: October 11, 12, 13

Our Weekend

We kicked off our weekend on Friday night by going out to eat with some great friends and then headed out to the Iowa Central's fall play: John Lennon & Me. The Phi Theta Kappa group on campus held a babysitting night, so we had the opportunity to go out to eat at Olde Boston's (one of my favorite places to eat in Fort Dodge) with our friends Paul and Teresa. After dinner we headed back out to campus to watch the fall play. I give this play two thumbs up! The cast did an amazing job, and the play had a great life message of how we all need to enjoy every moment we have because we never know long we have.

So thank you to Paul and Teresa for asking us out to eat and to the play, and thank you to the girls from Phi Theta Kappa for babysitting. The boys had a great time!!

Saturday we had a nice relaxing day. Brandon had to do some yard work for a few people, and my friend Bridget came over to hang out with me and the boys. On Saturday evening we had some more friends over who we haven't seen in awhile, Ben and Kayla. It was great catching up and spending time with them. Brandon even made us supper, chili! After supper we headed out to the Triton football game. Right before we had to leave, Brody fell asleep on Ben's lap so we picked him up and put him in the wagon and walked up to the game. As you can see he looks pretty darn comfy. Oh the life of a two year old :)

Sunday afternoon Brandon decided that I should learn how to shoot a gun, so we went out to Brushy Creek to shoot a few rounds and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. I did find it fun, extreme, and very very loud!

Throwback Thursday #1

I can't help but smile when I see this picture, and yet at the same time, it makes me a little sad. I just can't believe how fast these two little boys are growing! It looks so weird to see a pacifier in Brody's mouth, and Brayden has such a chubby face in this picture. Love this picture!

Morning Snuggles

I just had to post this photo from our morning snuggles. Our average morning routine consists of Brandon waking up at 4:30 to go workout with a friend. While he is working out I get up and get my self ready. By the time Brandon gets home from working out, I'm pretty close to being done getting ready for the day. Then the boys usually wake up and we have morning snuggle time with them while they are still waking up--and of course we have chocolate milk! One of my favorite parts of the day!

The Weekend: October 4, 5, and 6

The Weekend!

We had a very busy weekend filled lots of fun and excitement! Friday night started off by attending the Iowa Central Rodeo. We had pretty bad storms right before we left. The tornado sirens even went off! But not a problem, this made for lots of fun in the puddles! Get Go (Brandon's dad) and Grandma Cheryl got to stay home with Brayden while us three went to the rodeo.

Brody standing next to the cows!

Brody jumping around in the puddles with his new rain boots!

When we got home from the rodeo, we celebrated Brandon's birthday with his parents. Brandon's dad order him a cake that says, "Suck It Up Buttercup." (This is Brody's famous phrase) Then it has Brandon showing off his muscles with two little boys lifting weights, and me a pink dress.

As you can see Brayden really enjoyed the cake! Yum Yum!

Brandon's birthday present from me and the boys: Going to a Hawkeye game, Iowa vs. Michigan State. It was just Brandon and I because I don't think the boys are quite ready to sit through a football game just yet. It was a nice day just the two of us; however, I wish we could've ended with a Hawkeye victory. We still had a great time and went out to supper with some great friends we haven't seen in awhile! Great to see you Ryan, Rachel, and Reese!

Our Sunday project: Painting our baby pumpkins! Brody loved painting his pumpkin, but we had to end the fun when Brayden started eating the paint off of the paint brush. :)
