Summer is Here!

A few weeks ago it was 90 degrees! The first 90 degree day in a LONG time!!! I absolultey love the heat and the sun, and since it was pretty quiet around work that day, I decided to take a few personal hours. I went and picked up the boys, and we soaked up the afternoon sun!!! It was great!

Mother's Day Weekend

The weekend of Mother's Day, we headed to Des Moines to catch and I-Cubs game, do some shopping, and have a sleep over in a hotel! We had a great weekend, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! We could not have asked for better weather--well I guess except for the way home. It down poured all day on Sunday, but I have a fantastic husband who dropped us off at the doors and would always come and pick us up--so sweet! Thanks for taking one for the team Brandon!

Mom, stop trying to hide from the camera....

Swimming time with my boys!

Happy Mother's Day Mom! Love you!

Someone else had to be in the picture too :)

I had a great Mother's Day! So happy to be the mother of these two precious boys!

A Great Day In The Sun

A few weeks ago, my dad was over for the weekend, and while Brody was taking a nap we thought we would go outside and enjoy the nice sunshine! The sun/warmth has been very scarce this spring--so we have to take every opportunity we can when the sun is shinning! I am so ready for summer this year! It has been waaaay to cold in Iowa this past winter!

My fantastic art drawings---Don't worry I wasn't an art major :) However, this one year old thought it looked just like him and Bo Bo :)

Melts my heart!

We just love having a park in our backyard!

Injured Ankle

About a month ago, Brandon was playing basketball and rolled his ankle. I just had to take some pictures of it because it was so nasty! I felt so bad for him! He was put in a boot for about three weeks, and now he has a brace he has to wear for sometime yet. He didn't break his ankle, but he had a grade 3 sprain along with some torn ligaments. We are very thankful he didn't have to have surgery. He is doing great today, and almost back to regular activity.

Meals for this Week

Monday- Grilled hot dogs/brats with chips and pickles
Tuesday- Brandon and I are headed out to the I-Club dinner
Wednesday- Steak, corn on the cob, and garlic bread
Thursday- I work late so this night is up to Brandon
Friday- Game night! Taco in a bag for the meal
Saturday-
  • Lunch- Hamburgers, chips, pickles, and fruit
  • Supper- We will be at Ben and Kayla's Wedding!!
Sunday-
  • Lunch- Homemade mac and cheese with mixed veggies
  • Supper- We will be at a friend's house for a BBQ
Hope everyone has a good week, and sorry this is a day late---better late than never right??? :)

Easter

We had a great Easter celebration this year. On Saturday we headed to Laurens to have lunch with my side of the family. It was a very nice day spending time with everyone. We had a nice lunch, and then the weather was great so Brandon and Mason went out to the shooting range while my sister and I went for a run. While Brayden was napping, my sister, my dad, and I took Brody up to the school playground to mess around.

On Sunday, we hosted Brandon's family at our house. Again the weather was great, so we spent most of the time outside enjoying the sunshine. We started off by taking a nice walk on the local trial and then we spent the afternoon we at the park messing around.

Menu for the Week

So last week didn't go according to plan. We had a visitation we attended back home in Laurens, and so the menu for last week was a little off from what I had planned. Here is this week's menu:

  • Monday- Sirloin steak wrapped in bacon, corn on the cobb, and fresh melon
  • Tuesday- Grilled chicken breast, wild rice, and mixed vegetables
  • Wednesday- Grilled pork chops with stuff green peppers (suppose to be 83 degrees! Whoot Whoot!)
  • Thursday and Friday- I have to work late, so Brandon is in charge of both meals
  • Saturday- Brunch- pancakes and sausage. No supper is planned because we are headed out to an I-Cubs game!
  • Sunday- It's Mother's Day and I don't plan on cooking :)
Have a great week and enjoy the sunshine!

A Trip to Blank Park Zoo

On Saturday April 12th, at last minute Brandon and I decided to load up the kids and head south to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. We looked up the weather for the day and decided it would be a gorgeous day at the zoo, and it was! The boys had so much fun! It is so much fun watching their reactions to all of the animals. Each year we go to the zoo, and each year it becomes more fun. It is amazing how much they learn in a whole. Normally we only spend about an hour at the zoo, but this year we spent three hours! They had a blast! After a beautiful day in the sun at the zoo, we headed to Valley West Mall and met up with our good friends, Jacqulyn and Cameron! We had a nice supper, and then we enjoyed some playtime at the playground! I love watching Cameron and Brayden play and I'm excited for more play dates as they grow!

They had an Easter egg hunt at the zoo

Brody was very brave and touched a snake at the zoo as well as an alligator!
